Belimo is the global market leader in the development, production and sales of field devices for the energy-efficient control of heating, ventilation and air-conditioning systems. The focus of our core business is on damper actuators, control valves, sensors and meters.
“ Centric PXM enables Belimo to deliver consistent product communication that is technically up-to-date and in the required languages. In addition, the quality of the product data has been considerably increased, and it can now be reused for different systems. ” — Stefan Amman, Application and Data Manager PIM at BELIMO Automation AG
“With product and technical documentation published in up to 25 languages and no centralized data strategy, teams were working in silos using disconnected systems. Manual processes slowed productivity, introduced inconsistencies and made global collaboration inefficient,”
Stefan Amman, Application & Data Manager PIM at Belimo Automation AG, recalls how the lack of a centralized strategy made it difficult to keep information consistent across regions.
Today, Belimo uses Centric PXM™ (Product Experience Management) as a centralized, scalable platform to manage product information and digital assets. The company delivers fast, accurate and multilingual content across all channels—streamlining operations, improving data quality and accelerating time to shelf.
Founded in 1975 and headquartered in Hinwil, Switzerland, Belimo Automation AG is global market leader in the development, production and sales of field devices for the energy-efficient control of heating, ventilation and air-conditioning systems (HVAC). The focus of their core business is on damper actuators, control valves, sensors and meters systems. The company produces more than 10 million actuators annually and operates in over 80 countries with a workforce of 2,300 employees.
Belimo’s mission is to create an environment that cares by improving comfort and well-being while reducing the energy consumption of buildings worldwide through innovative HVAC solutions and services. Their focus is on energy efficiency, sustainability and technological innovation to make a positive impact on the environment and enhance the quality of life for building occupants.
As Belimo’s global product assortment grew to include over 5,800 technical illustrations, 6,700 product images and 5,500 technical documents in more than 25 languages, managing product content became increasingly complex. The company lacked a centralized data management strategy, and teams responsible for product management, marketing and technical communication operated independently, using different systems and duplicating data across silos.
This fragmented approach resulted in inefficiencies, slow collaboration and inconsistent communication across departments and international markets. Without automation, updating product structures and technical documentation was time-consuming and error-prone. Handling unstructured content like text modules and InDesign files required significant manual effort. Meanwhile, product and pricing catalogs had to be updated manually before translations could even begin, further delaying delivery and increasing the risk of inaccuracies.
The turning point came when the growing volume and complexity of multilingual product communication exceeded what decentralized tools could handle. Belimo recognized that to meet its global demands, it needed a future-proof solution capable of managing both structured and unstructured content, automating publication processes and ensuring consistency across all channels.
The new system would need to synchronize core product data with the company’s ERP, automate translation workflows and support flexible data exports across various formats and platforms. Most critically, it had to enable fast, simultaneous and secure access for distributed teams, providing complete transparency and control over every stage of content development, from creation to publication.

Belimo’s implementation marked a critical step toward global digital transformation. The company set out to centralize the management of product data, digital assets and multilingual content using a single, scalable solution. This shift replaced disconnected systems and manual processes with standardized workflows and a streamlined data infrastructure.
The rollout of Centric PXM’s PIM (Product Information Management) and DAM (Digital Asset Management) began with a clear focus: to automate translation, publishing and data sharing across departments and regions. Technical content, previously updated manually, was now handled through automated workflows and structured data pipelines.
Centric PXM’s translation capabilities and seamless integration with connectors like Across significantly accelerated multilingual publishing. Combined with a powerful publishing stack, including Publishing Hub Connector and SmartDocument, it enabled fully automated datasheet creation in over 25 languages, direct labeling and linking to products.
Flexible configuration enabled Belimo to synchronize core data from ERP, manage product-independent content modules and export data in multiple formats tailored to various platforms like web, shop, tools, Excel and more. The intuitive self-service portal ensured global sales teams could securely access the most up-to-date product content, anytime, anywhere.
By consolidating all content operations, Belimo unlocked immediate gains in efficiency, visibility and control, laying a solid foundation for continued international growth.
For Belimo, transforming product content management went beyond centralization, it was about enabling smarter, faster and more scalable operations across global teams. What had previously been a fragmented, manual approach became a streamlined, automated system for multilingual product communication.
By adopting Centric PXM (formerly Contentserv), Belimo established a single, reliable source of product information and digital assets that powers global brand consistency and agility.
Belimo’s success shows how solving key operational inefficiencies, like manual updates and inconsistent product content, can unlock enterprise-wide impact. With Centric PXM, Belimo has built a digital backbone that supports innovation, efficiency and global scale.
