7mesh Gears Up for Growth with Centric PLM

Canadian cycling apparel company partners with Centric Software® to set digital foundation

CAMPBELL, Calif., August 3, 2021 – 7mesh, the cycling apparel manufacturer has selected Centric Software’s Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) solution for emerging businesses, Centric SMB. Centric Software provides the most innovative enterprise solutions to plan, design, develop, source and sell products such as apparel, footwear, sporting goods, furniture, home décor, cosmetics, food & beverage and luxury to achieve strategic and operational digital transformation goals.

Headquartered in Squamish, British Columbia, Canada, 7mesh was founded in 2013. Launching it’s first collection of advanced bike apparel and technical gear for road and trail riding in all conditions in 2015, 7mesh products are built to last with innovative patterning, premium fabrics and advanced fabrication methods like bonded seams and clean finish tailoring.

Calum Davidson, co-founder and VP of Operations at 7mesh describes the business, “We’re a very product-led company. Everything is very intentional in the product so all materials are chosen carefully or developed with vendors. Keeping functionality and integration of the garment in mind is at the core of who we are as a brand.”

He continues, “We outgrew pdfs and excel files; we need something more structured to help with our growth to keep track of all the specifications, colorway information and the details around the cycling fit for our products.”

7mesh selected Centric due to the rich and industry-specific innovations but also their reputation. “Everything we’re doing is with scalability in the future in mind, and Centric stood out as the market leader,” says Davidson.

Katie Kirkpatrick, Director of Product with 7mesh says,” We’re very hands-on in  Product. We’re looking to Centric for organization of material libraries, calendars, lab dips and having everything in one spot to have better structure within the product team.”

Davidson says of working with Centric, “We have found the process to be orderly and well-documented. That kind of successful onboarding is something that that Centric is known for and is expected, so we anticipate things to run pretty smoothly.”

In addition to their continued growth as a global cycling apparel brand, on a more local level, the company is committed to becoming a business anchor in their community of Squamish. They feel like they are squarely on that path. Says Davidson, “We expect to keep growing significantly over the coming years. Much of that is on the back of new products and new innovation and Centric PLM is one of the steps we’re taking to make sure the foundation of the business is going to be good for years and decades to come.”

Chris Groves says, “We are happy to be partnering with 7mesh, a company that encourages people to get outdoors and stay healthy. We look forward to riding more efficiently into the future together.”

7mesh (www.7mesh.com)

7mesh was born out of the realisation that while technical gear for backcountry adventurers had taken great leaps forward, the bike community had been left behind. And as riders, as well as apparel professionals who helped create many of the outdoor industry’s breakout technologies, we knew that cyclists deserved better. So in 2013, we quit our jobs and got to work. Our first collection debuted in 2015. Since then, we’ve been equipping a growing community of global adventure seekers with advanced bike apparel for road and trail riding in all conditions.

Our goal is to create bike apparel that stands the test of time, with innovative shapes, premium fabrics and advanced fabrication methods like bonded seams and Clean Finish tailoring. All so that when you’re ready to go again, so is your gear.

We believe that clothing shouldn’t call attention to itself, which is why we spend so much time refining every line, seam and shape, before testing new ideas on the mountains that overlook our design studio. Then we build upon what worked and improve anything that took us out of the moment, repeating the process until we only see the ride ahead.
