Meeting Group was born thanks to the meeting of an athlete and a young industrial designer in 1967 in Treviso, Italy. The duo created a dynamic brand specializing in the production of premium Italian apparel for women who appreciate an active lifestyle, and naturally mix sport with glam-fashion. For more than 50 years, Meeting Group has been manufacturing apparel with great care and passion and maintains nearly 90 percent of their production locally, with the remaining in Turkey and the Far East.
Meeting Group is focused on expanding their women’s activewear collection DEHA. When Andrea Dei Rossi, Chief Innovation Officer at Meeting Group joined the team, he immediately identified the need for digital transformation. The group was working with an outdated Product Data Management (PDM) system that wasn’t integrated with the company’s ERP system, causing delays and data integrity issues.
“I knew we could not continue to work in this way,” says Dei Rossi. “The first step was to move to a new technology platform with a modern and easy to use interface, where data could be stored and retrieved in real-time.”
Dei Rossi wanted to improve product quality and team collaboration by having a single source of truth. He knew a PLM system could help speed processes from design to Bill of Materials (BOM) to costing and help the group analyze collections more efficiently.
“The main purpose of this project is data centralization and organization,” says Dei Rossi. “Today, information is scattered throughout our ERP system, in Excel files and on people’s computers. We wanted to have a single repository for data that is visible to everyone.”
Centric PLM is expected to streamline the product development process, streamline collaboration and improve overall supply chain efficiency.
“It will be great to access all the data live and not have to sort through emails and external charts to find relevant information. We spend too much time on internal communication and we want to make our work more efficient. So we wanted a system where we can organize all our documents and communicate with the whole team in a very effective way. We are also excited about Centric PLM’s workflow management system and to be able to better collaborate with vendors. It’s going to make us more efficient and faster,” adds Dei Rossi.
