A Phased PLM Implementation for R&D
Products are the foundation of Teway Food’s success. The company has consistently invested heavily in R&D and regards its innovation teams as one of its most valuable assets.

Teway Food officially launched its Centric PLM project in 2022, adopting a phased implementation strategy focused on continuous value creation.
Phase 1 focused on establishing the foundational platform and implementing Integrated Product Development project management. It went live in April 2023, standardizing R&D processes and unifying data management.
Phase 2 focused on risk management, automation and cost control, further improving operational efficiency and expanding the value the solution delivers.
Digitalizing Competitive Product Development to Fuel Innovation
Teway Food transformed its internal competitive product development mechanism through Centric PLM, digitalizing the entire process, covering task release, team participation, development execution and result evaluation.
This transformation not only addressed the challenges of limited project visibility and difficult progress tracking under traditional management approaches. It also turned innovation into a proactive, competitive effort rather than a passive exercise.
“Since the beginning of 2025, 100% of newly initiated product projects have been managed through our online competitive development process,” notes the R&D and innovation Center team. “This has significantly stimulated innovation across our R&D teams and established a strong foundation for talent assessment and innovation mechanism optimization.”
Automating Complex Formula Changes to Improve Efficiency and Accuracy
To address the frequent need for large-scale formula and process adjustments, Teway Food introduced advanced batch operation capabilities during Phase 2 of the PLM project. The solution handles bulk creation, modification and replacement of formulas, BOMs and process standards, completely replacing previously time-consuming manual activities.
Teway Food has fundamentally changed how it manages formula updates, translating complex business requirements into reliable system logic and turning fragmented human experience into standardized digital rules. What once took four person-days to adjust 44 formulas now takes minutes, delivering dramatic improvements in efficiency and accuracy.
Multi-Dimensional Risk Control and Real-Time Cost Monitoring
Teway Food built an automated risk control model covering the entire R&D lifecycle. The company embedded food safety indicators, export compliance requirements, halal certification standards, restricted additives and microbiological risk controls directly into Centric PLM, which automatically verifies compliance the moment teams enter a formula.
The platform automatically generates compliance conclusions, theoretical nutritional information and standardized ingredient declarations.
As a result, formula review efficiency has improved by 80%, while compliance calculation accuracy reaches 100%.
Phase 2 also introduced live formula cost monitoring, so teams quickly spot cost anomalies and trigger alerts. The company can now optimize cost structures more effectively and respond faster to changing market conditions.
Improving User Experience for Stronger Adoption
To maximize adoption, Teway Food completed 22 usability enhancements in Phase 2, covering interface interactions, process design and approval workflows.

Business, IT and Centric teams collaborated closely on system design, with stakeholders taking an active role in shaping the compliance model, batch operations and cost monitoring solutions.
