Ted Baker Takes a Step Further with Centric Software

Four people in trendy Ted Baker clothing and sunglasses pose stylishly on a seaside promenade. Two men stand on either side, with one woman seated on a white metal chair and another standing. White iron furniture and palm plants are arranged around them, with a blue sky above, as if taking a step further in fashion elegance.

LOS GATOS, Calif., March 1, 2016 – Ted Baker, the renowned “No Ordinary Designer Label” based in London, successfully rolled out the second phase of its Centric 8 PLM project, on time and under budget. Centric 8 is the leading Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) solution for fashion, retail, footwear, luxury and consumer goods companies.

Following the successful menswear team go live in July last year, Ted Baker extended use of Centric PLM to their womenswear team for the development of its products.

All of the information for a style, from concept through to bulk approval is entered and viewed on Centric 8 PLM.  Currently, the design, garment tech, buying and production teams can all access the same product information.  As per the initial project plan with rollout mirroring the product development process, additional production and buying users will follow over the next few months.

Change management was a major factor in the project. As Ted Baker has grown quickly since its beginning in Glasgow in 1987, the business literally outgrew their previous systems and initial ways of working.

“We went live with menswear in July,” explains Flis Leverton, Head of Production Systems. “I’m really happy with our deployment strategy because our menswear team, early adopters of computer systems, can share their experience and help support our womenswear teams.”

Among the key deciding factors when selecting Centric were the usability of the system and the cultural business fit. “Centric consultants understand our business and that clearly made a difference,“ Flis Leverton continues, “Centric is a PLM specialist. And they know fashion really well. I think our biggest win is that we went live when we said we would.”

“We are very proud to have successfully gone live across Ted Baker’s menswear and womenswear divisions and full met our joint commitments,” says Chris Groves, President and CEO of Centric. “It is a confirmation that our Agile Deployment methodology speeds value delivery and we are looking forward to supporting Ted Baker’s expansion over the years.”
