CAMPBELL, Calif., November 10, 2016 – J.Lindeberg, the Swedish fashion and sportswear brand, has selected Centric Software to provide its Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) solution. Centric is the leading product lifecycle management solution for fashion, retail, footwear, luxury, outdoor and consumer goods companies.
J.Lindeberg, founded in Stockholm in 1996 by Johan Lindeberg, designs functional yet fashion-forward clothing to suit an active lifestyle. Inspired by Johan Lindeberg’s vision to update the fashion and golf industries at a time when traditional golf clothes were stiff and unfashionable, the brand now offers menswear and womenswear golf, ski and active wear in addition to fashion and tailored clothing collections. The company is set to co-sponsor the FIS World Alpine Ski Championships in St. Moritz in 2017.
With distribution in 900 stores across 37 countries, J.Lindeberg had grown to the point where a PLM system became necessary to keep track of product information to control product margins.
“As our company is growing we are moving into the next generation of development, we have realized a need to improve and further develop our intelligence in the assortment planning and cost control processes,” says Amelie Sernung, Business Developer & Controller.
“The fashion industry is a fast paced environment and in order to drive performance, we identified a need to minimize the non-value adding activities as well as improve information sharing throughout all divisions at J.Lindeberg. By using Centric we will be able to collect and structure large amounts of information which will enable us to make sound decisions based on actual data and facts. “
Centric initially reached out to J.Lindeberg in late 2015, anticipating their potential need for a PLM solution. This kickstarted a process of considering a number of local vendors and international competitors and ended when J.Lindeberg selected Centric.
As IT Director Marcus Mellberg explains, “J.Lindeberg are in a stage of digitalization and we need to have partners and tools that support and help to drive the continuous development phase that we are in. Centric has a great understanding and extensive experience in the fashion industry on both a global and local level; they understand where we come from and where we are going. Also we believe that the Centric PLM platform is agile and highly configurable, with great capabilities to streamline information, make the right data more available and visible helping us make the right decisions.”
J.Lindeberg teams will work with the full Centric PLM suite, including their innovative mobile apps.
“Here at J.Lindeberg, we are looking forward to having greater consistency in our data so that we can control product costs in a more effective way, speed up time to market and focus on business intelligence and innovation rather than administration. With Centric, we also expect to be able to work more often on the right products to get a better hit rate in the market,” says Sernung.
“We are delighted to have been selected by J.Lindeberg as their partner,” says Chris Groves, President and CEO of Centric. “With J.Lindeberg’s mix of active fashion and functional clothing, we are confident that they will continue to be successful and we are looking forward to partnering with them to help drive their business growth.”
The Scandinavian Fashion House J.Lindeberg was founded in Stockholm in 1996 with the vision to challenge the establishment of the fashion and golf industries. Since the first collections, J.Lindeberg has successfully combined the worlds of fashion and sportswear, offering outstanding products for an active lifestyle.
Today J.Lindeberg house fashion, golf, ski and activewear collections and distribution covers more than 37 countries. The company is headquartered in Stockholm, Sweden.
