European fashion manufacturer partners with Centric Software to replace legacy PDM and increase efficiency
CAMPBELL, Calif., October 17, 2023 – Centric Software®, the Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) market leader, proudly announces its partnership with Seidensticker Group, a leading German-based fashion manufacturer. Centric Software provides the most innovative enterprise solutions to plan, design, develop, source, price and sell products such as apparel, footwear, sporting goods, furniture, home décor, consumer electronics, cosmetics, food & beverage and luxury to achieve strategic and operational digital transformation goals.
Founded in 1919 by Walter Seidensticker Sr., the company has become a byword for excellent blouses and shirts. As a globally active and future-oriented textile manufacturer with a clear vision, the Seidensticker Group implements and continuously optimizes both its corporate goals and its high standards worldwide.
Seidensticker was looking for innovative solutions to replace its outdated PDM system as well as to optimize work processes across different time zones and teams working with different systems. They knew a modern, cloud-based PLM solution could help them overcome the challenges facing global fashion brands — price, quality and speed.
“We want to offer high-quality products with a good price-performance ratio as quickly as possible, so time to market is crucial,” says Horst Gersmeyer, Chief Operating Officer at Seidensticker. “We are headquartered in Germany, have a large branch office in Hong Kong and four production facilities in Asia. That’s why interconnectivity is key. We needed to connect all different parts of the organization involved in product development, from the initial idea to sales.”
Visibility, transparency, streamlined workflows, a single repository for data accessible anytime from anywhere, product development efficiencies and scalability were critical features they needed in a PLM. Building resilience to external market challenges such as supply chain disruptions, and sustainability measurement and documentation were also high on the list of needs that led Gersmeyer and his team to select Centric PLM™.
“Centric’s standard out of the box capabilities met our immediate requirements to harmonize work processes and provide a unified, web-based platform,” explains Gersmeyer. “It will enable fast end-to-end data transfer and integration across the different parts of the organization.”
Seidensticker expects to reduce costs and resources with the speed, efficiency and transparency Centric PLM delivers. They also plan to evolve their business and partnership with Centric Software.
“To us, working with Centric Software is a strategic partnership that will continue long after the implementation and we imagine adding other modules in the future, such as Quality Control, and 3D for product development,” says Gersmeyer.
“We are proud of our long-term partnership with Seidensticker as they modernize and streamline their business globally,” says Fabrice Canonge, President of Centric Software. “We are excited that they’ve chosen Centric PLM to enable them to continue to deliver high-quality fashions, quickly to their customers.”
