CAMPBELL, Calif., 9 April, 2019 – Bültel International Fashion Group (Bueltel), the German fashion company, has selected Centric Software’s Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) solution. Centric Software provides the most innovative enterprise solutions to fashion, retail, footwear, outdoor, luxury and consumer goods companies to achieve strategic and operational digital transformation goals.
Founded in 1964, Bueltel is a family-owned company based in Salzbergen, Germany. Bueltel designs, develops and produces modern fashion for men and women under three different brands: CALAMAR, hattric and camel active. Bueltel has over 2,000 employees worldwide and owns production facilities in Vietnam and the Philippines.
From 2020 onwards Bueltel will manage the European license to produce all products for camel active. This put pressure on existing systems and Bueltel looked for a PLM solution to streamline processes and improve visibility.
“We had a previous PLM project that failed to get off the ground, and teams mainly relied on Excel and messaging apps to collaborate,” says Carsten Hirche, IT Director and Group CIO at Bueltel. “Processes were not harmonized and defined. We are also migrating our Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) from a legacy solution, redesigning our supply chain infrastructure and setting up a new online distribution channel. We needed a flexible PLM solution that could be integrated with our new ERP solution and other systems.”
Bueltel chose Centric 8 PLM on the basis of its system architecture and Agile Deployment℠ implementation approach.
“Centric is the only PLM solution on the market that can connect with our IT architecture,” explains Hirche. “With Centric’s agile approach, we can plan smartly and divide the project into sections in parallel with our other IT projects. Centric has the expertise to help us develop best practices and streamline operations so that we can focus on strategic optimization.”
“Workshops with the Centric team are defined by friendly and transparent communication,” he concludes. “We’re looking forward to seeing results. Everyone will have advantages once they can clearly see their responsibilities and work from one source of master data.”
“We would like to welcome Bueltel on board,” says Chris Groves, President and CEO of Centric Software. “Bueltel is in an exciting phase of growth and expansion, and we are proud to partner with them on a digital foundation that will help them to develop collections more efficiently and effectively.”
Bültel International Fashion Group (Bueltel) (www.bueltel.com)
In 1964, the Bernard and Hermann Bültel brothers founded the Bültel Kleiderfabrik, originally in a former cinema hall in Bahnhofstraße in Salzbergen. Swiftly, and just two years later, the move to the current site on Rheiner Straße in Salzbergen followed, which would soon be followed by several other construction measures.
A pioneering spirit and progress could soon be seen. By the early 70s, the Messrs Bültel had founded their own production facility in the Philippines, followed by other international production sites and a procurement office in Hong Kong. To this day, there is a production focus in Vietnam and the Philippines.
Today, the Bültel International Fashion Group is a globally active fashion company in the men’s and women’s fashion sector. With its own brand CALAMAR and hattric, as well as the licensed camel active collection, this Salzbergen-based company has been successfully established on the market for more than 50 years.
More than 2,000 employees worldwide are committed to successful collections and continuous growth. With a successful team, first-class sales and production partners all over the world and its own production plants in Asia, the Bültel Group is setting standards for jackets, coats, sports jackets, waistcoats, shirts, knitwear and hosiery goods, as well as trousers and accessories.
