4murs Builds Growth with Centric PLM

CAMPBELL, California, 3 July 2018 –4murs, specialist in wallpaper and home decoration, has selected Centric Software to provide their Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) solution with the goal of diversifying its product offering and restructuring its product development process. Centric Software provides the most innovative enterprise solutions to fashion, retail, footwear, outdoor, luxury and consumer goods companies to achieve strategic and operational digital transformation goals.

Founded in 1969 in France, the family-run 4murs has a network of 120 stores and 650 employees across the country in addition to the Welldeco brand with 12 stores in Belgium and also their online sales channel www.4murs.fr. Recognized as a wallpaper specialist, the company wants to diversify its product range to better meet consumer demand. With its new ‘Lifestyle’ collection, in addition to, wallpaper, textiles and paint, 4murs has enlarged the range to include more decorative items.

“The diversification of our product offer involves a deep-seated transformation of the company especially in our product development process,” explains Yan Beaudoing, Project Manager at 4murs. “Our new ‘Lifestyle’ concept has been introduced to the market and we already have buyers for these new collections. With our expanded product line, coordination and decision making have become very complicated using traditional tools for product development.”

“For almost 50 years, 4murs has forged a strong innovative corporate culture,” Beaudoing continues. “We have always developed our IT and technical solutions in-house which allowed us to stay one step ahead of the competition. But today, the market is changing, our concept is evolving, and we need to change our methods and adapt.”

“The acquisition of a PLM solution has become inevitable. It would have taken us years to develop a tool like PLM in-house.  We chose to call on technology experts to propose solutions but also to challenge our ways of working to allow us to better face the future. PLM will enable buying teams and product managers to make better decisions faster, to have a single source overview of the entire collection, and finally, to have a collection planning tool to market all of the products at the right time– which can be difficult because our products have different development cycles,” says Beaudoing.

4murs decided on Centric Software PLM solution. “In addition to being the market leader, Centric offers incomparable, modern technology that we all liked and Centric PLM can grow along with us thanks to its flexibility and highly configurable features,” adds Yan Beaudoing. “These are our first steps into the world of PLM and with Centric, we see a real partner in innovation beyond the simple customer-supplier relationship. Centric will support us in what is a major, company restructuring project by sharing their knowledge of industry best practices always with the aim of improving our internal processes and the quality of our products.”

“We are proud to have 4murs as one of Centric’s newest customers,” says Chris Groves, President and CEO of Centric Software. “We look forward to a strong partnership with one of the premier names in home decoration as they revamp their product offer and re-strategize for growth.

4MURS(www.4murs.com)

In 1969, Michel Drugmanne developed the EXPO PAPIER PEINT brand in eastern France adopting the innovative concept imagined by his family: create large, in-store wallpaper displays, offer them from stock at an affordable price.Never seen before!

During the 80’s, EXPO PAPIER PEINT became 4MURS, opening the first stores in commercial areas to offer a large choice to customers. The commercial success was amazing and 4MURS expanded to a national scale.

The 2000’s saw the arrival of a new Drugmanne generation at the head of the brand. Following its leadership, 4MURS extended its decoration offering by developing collections of curtains and paints matching the style of their wallpapers.

In 2009, 4MURS launched its commercial website 4murs.com which delivers to most European countries. Today, the brand includes 120 stores in France and has been expanding its new store concept since 2005.
